In this serger class you will learn the basics of flat construction which makes sewing a T-Shirt fast and simpler than the general techniques commonly used. You will also learn how to use bands of fabric to ‘hem’ your t-shirt sleeves and bottom, and how to properly measure and sew on the neckband.  Even though this is a beginner class, you must have a basic knowledge of how to use your serger (threading, changing the needle, changing your foot, etc.).  Pre-class homework:  due to time constraints and room size, you will need to cut out your shirt before class (just the front, back, and sleeves); keep your pattern pieces attached to your cut out fabric.  Bring all your extra fabric, you will cut out your bands in class; irons, mats, rulers, and rotary cutters will be available for your use.  Double check that you are cutting out the proper size, store sizing and pattern sizes are NOT the same! Make sure your fabric was washed and dried before you cut it out.
