Intro to Quilting: Sampler Quilt Top

Class is on Fridays, Nov 18, Dec 2, Dec 9, Dec 16 2pm-5pm (12 hours of instruction time)

Skill Level: Beginner; ages 14 and up

What you will learn:
In this four-session course, participants will learn new techniques to build upon their basic sewing knowledge and create a small sampler quilt top. Each class will grow upon the prior week, and participants will leave each class with an assignment to complete at home.  Topics will cover selection of fabric and quilting tools (and why quality matters); quilting math and terminology; how to use a rotary cutter and rulers; sewing an accurate quarter-inch seam; piecing; block assembly, pressing, layout, and design options. Finishing the quilt top (basting, quilting, and binding) is a separate class that will be scheduled in January.

Please do not buy generic items online or at a discount store without first understanding the purpose of their use.  Poor quality supplies and tools will be frustrating to work with, and you will get discouraged from quilting.  Good quality supplies and tools will make your learning experience easy, productive, and FUN!
