Sashiko Hands-on Event
Come explore the amazing one-of-a-kind Baby lock Sashiko machine with renowned quilt artist Bob Coon. You will explore the amazing features of a Sashiko, while learning how to create beautiful embellished projects!
Two days for only $150.00 includes fabric, stabilizer, batting and specialty material! Food and drink will be provided as well!
Day 1 - Friday, March 8th you will learn:
- How the machine was developed
- How the stitches are made
- basic operation of the machine and maintenance
- changing the needle, latch cover
- winding a bobbin and threading
- You will stitch examples of :straight line quilting. free motion, and embellishing
- Use of hemmer ft, downturn ft
- Participants will make a placemat that can be converted to a tool bag, cosmetic bag, or sewing bag
Day 2 - Saturday, March 7th you will learn:
- You will work with the Sashiko foot kit and learn how to use the 1/4", 5/8" and 1" single downturn feller and the 1/4" and 1/2" plain hemmer.
- You will make a sample using the various feet and attachments
