QUILT ART by ROSIE
At the age of 14, I taught myself to sew on my Mother’s Black Vintage Singer Sewing Machine. My Aunt Elsa, from Germany, sent me a dress pattern (written in German, of course). With pictures and my Mom’s help, I finished the dress in time to wear on Easter Sunday. I went on to make several other garments, including a beautiful long royal blue dress that I wore on my Wedding Day when I married my High School Sweetheart 47 years ago! We have two wonderful children, two beautiful granddaughters and two handsome twin grandsons. My husband and I reside in Stafford, VA.
As a quilt artist, I began designing some of my own Art Quilts and Bags. For the last five years, I have designed quilts for the Hoffman Challenge that have traveled to some of the largest Quilting/Sewing venues in the United States. I am a former member of the Cabin Branch Quilter’s Unlimited Chapter and a current member of Piedmont Modern Quilt Guild.
As a longarm quilter, I help choose designs that would fit for the quilt. I enjoy helping others pick and match fabrics for their projects.
Quilting is my passion and it shows in my handmade pieces.
Rosie Blok, Quilt Artist since 1998!
