How to register for classes?
  • Call the Store to register by phone (703) 368-7169
  • Buy via PayPal online or on our website
  • Stop by the store to see us!


What should I bring to class?

  • If you are doing a one on one or private lesson please speak with the instructor to determine what types of materials you will be needing for your class.
  • Group classes will have materials list on the website under the class description.
  • Email instructor if you have any questions. (Contact info is located at the bottom of the specific class)


What if there is a storm or inclement weather?
  • If there is a storm or weather is preventative of safe travel for either our teachers or our students the class will be rescheduled for the next convenient safe date. No refunds on classes. Classes will be rescheduled or a credit will be issued. 
  • If Prince William County Schools are closed, classes are canceled for that day.


What are the classroom policies?
  • All Machines used in the classroom should be in good working order before the day of your lesson. (If you are unsure of the condition of your machine, simply bring it in for a going over 2 weeks before your class.
  • Registration for class is the only way to reserve a spot. Once registered, no refund will be issued.
  • Private lessons are $65 an hour, and are scheduled on a one on one basis. Please call the store for availability and times.

What if I am late or I miss a class?
  • No-shows will not be made up and  payment is forfeited.
  • If you are late, the time will not be made up.
  • Please do not be tardy.
  • Arriving fifteen minutes early for scheduled appointment is optimum.

This 12-hour, hands-on class will help you understand the various types of batting, basting, and quilting techniques, and then we will wrap up with binding. By the end of the class, you will have a quilt ready to be used!

Beginning Free Motion Quilting

In this class you will learn and practice the basics of free motion quilting from stippling to ?e?s and ?o?s as well as other fills to create beautiful quilts on your regular sewing machine. Even though this is a beginner level quilting class, you MUST know how to use your machine. What you will learn: How to regulate your stitch speed and fabric movement to create even stitches. Setting your tensions for different threads. What threads to use for different looks. What needle you should use. Stippling. Pebbles.

Astrodelic Pattern

In this class, you will learn how to cut precise pieces for two blocks. One block being left to right and one being the exact reverse. You will also learn how to iron your sewn pieces flat and seams open. You will be sewing accurate 1⁄4" seams. You will learn how to sandwich your quilt with the finished quilt top, batting and backing. Let's have fun with this pattern.

Intro to Quilting: Sampler Quilt Top

Want to expand your sewing skills and learn how to accurately measure, cut, piece and assemble a quilt? This 5-week, hands-on class will help you understand the tools and techniques used in basic quilt construction, and show you how to accurately measure, cut and piece your fabric to make six different quilt blocks, which will become your own sampler quilt top. Finishing the quilt top (backing, basting, quilting, and binding) is a separate class that is offered several times a year.

Pinwheel Serger Pillow

This little pillow is a great way to learn a few different techniques with your serger. First, for your pillow front you will piece fabric strips using a 3 or 4 thread wide stitch and learn now to set you serger up for a ? inch seam. After cutting up these strip sections, you will sew them together into a pinwheel pattern. Then you will learn how to insert a zipper into the back of the pillow using a 3 thread narrow stitch and a piping foot. Finally, you will make your own piping and sew your pillow fronts and backs together with a piping accent. You will be taught 3 different ways to splice your piping together for the perfect look.

This is a class for you to learn how to do custom quilting using your embroidery machine. Whether using purchased quilting designs, or you digitized a quilting design yourself, you will learn the techniques required to quilt your quilts, table runners, wall hangings, or purses, using your machine. We will review the best hoops to use, as well as tricks on hooping your project to get a perfectly placed quilt design. After this class you will have the confidence to tackle even the most intricate projects.
